Adam Bathgate began his career at KC Coring at a young age. Starting as a shop hand, fixing equipment , and tending to small laborer requirements of the company. Eventually promoting to operating one of the company’s fully equipped trucks. As time passed he became one of KC Coring’s trainers, Setting many standards within the concrete cutting industry, and helping to determine many safety practices, That are set in place today. Adam is certified with the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Industry training requirements, Furthermore has been certified thru The Coring and Cutting group Certified Operator training, and Certified in Silica dust awareness training. Adam has completed all OSHA requirements to be a leader in the Sawing and Drilling industry. Now, 27 years later he finds himself as the President. Managing over 6,000 projects a year.

Adam has many responsibilities, which include HR duties , scheduling, determining ways to reduce costs, increase revenues, and improve the overall performance of the company. Engaging in high level negotiations to generate lucrative contracts in order to build better customer relations. Setting company goals and developing future business strategies.

Even though his position requires him to be available 24/7, he enjoys the fast paced atmosphere. His favorite part of spending his career at KC Coring is the people. He views his team as family. Feeling as, “It takes all of us to be successful.” In his time away from work family, you’ll find Adam at the lake spending time with his Wife, Daughter and Nephews. He enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, and spending as much time outdoors as he can.

Steve Wilson started working at KC Coring and Cutting 16 years ago as an apprentice. Currently, he serves the company as Vice President, which comes with many responsibilities. Wilson has his hands on every project. His background in the field enables him to oversee job estimates for accuracy. He also makes sure that every team member has proper safety training and handles all internal safety processes. Every workday brings new challenges to Wilson and his team. He loves how every job he oversees is different, but his favorite thing about his career is interacting with other staff members and clients.

Wilson enjoys spending time with his family when he’s not at work. He likes going to his grandkids’ soccer games and hanging out with family and friends.

I am Ernest Collins, Senior Estimator, with over 20 years of combined field and estimating experience. My journey began as a general laborer, where I developed a strong foundation in the industry before progressing to my current role for KC Coring and Cutting.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to hard work and continuous learning. I fully believe in the value of inquiry-based learning, which has driven me to invest long hours in both hands-on experiences and classroom education. My primary responsibilities involve leading a functional team in preparing detailed, competitive bids in addition to managing projects from inception to completion.

As a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators, I stay current with industry best practices and standards. I am also a proud supporter of the Laborers Union, advocating for the rights and well-being of those in our field. My passion lies in meeting each customer's needs on an individual basis, ensuring that I provide tailored solutions that align with their specific requirements.

In summary, my career has been a fulfilling journey characterized by hard work, dedication, and a commitment to excellence. I look forward to continuing to grow in this field and contributing to the success of every project I undertake.

Jim began his career with KC Coring in January of 2025. Though short lived with the team, He has been a huge contribution. Jim has brought a new level of inspiration to the office. Having a construction background in many fields of work, and being so involved in the growth of Kansas City. Jim has fit right in. Always being the first one to be “Hands On” in the field.

When he’s not learning how to saw concrete. Jim spends his free time with his family. Lighting up the BBQ grill or smoker any free chance he can get.

Justin’s career began with KC Coring as a general laborer. As time would tell, he would advance very rapidly with the team. Since 2011 he has overcome many difficult tasks in the field, and has educated himself on every concrete saw the company has to offer. Taking into consideration all safety aspects of the industry. Fast forwarding to the current times, His role is highly lucrative to the success of the company. Managing every job on the schedule on a daily basis. And scheduling all of the company’s future projects.

Justing enjoys spending his free time with his family, Enjoying all they have to offer. Keeping him pretty busy with sports, and teaching them life’s lessons along the way.

Melissa Young started with KC Coring in 2017 as our Office Manager. There are many responsibilities she provides for the team. Some tasks may include, Invoicing, Payroll, Lien Waivers, Certificates of Insurance, Pay Application, Accounts Receivable, Reviewing contracts, Fuel Reports, and many other numerous tasks. She is continually working closely with the team to ensure proper billing and to handle any accounting issues that may come up.

Melissa has been in the Construction Industry for over 25 years. She enjoys a consistently challenging position and she has found it. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her new grandkid, her daughter, her husband, and her dogs, along with her family and friends. Melissa is a major asset to the team at KC Coring & Cutting.

Since joining the team in September 2021 as an office assistant, Melissa has taken on a diverse range of responsibilities that keep the office running efficiently. From answering phones and assisting customers to managing certified payroll, creating invoices, and collecting payments, she ensures accuracy and organization in every task. Passionate about her work, she believes in the power of communication and teamwork knowing that collaboration is key to success. Loving what she does makes every day fulfilling, and her dedication shines through in everything she accomplishes.

Melissa cherishes spending time with her husband Dan, and their beloved four-legged child, Reggie Ray. Exploring the outdoors brings her joy, whether it’s a peaceful walk or an exciting new adventure. Family is at the heart of her life, and she loves spoiling her six nephews and two nieces whenever she gets the chance.
