BROKK Demollition

Most think of concrete core drilling as a highly efficient way to create openings for HVAC, sprinkler, plumbing, or electrical systems. However, concrete core drilling can be used for other purposes – including during demolition and renovation projects.

Concrete core drilling can be completed to any depth and from a quarter-inch to 66 inches in diameter. This versatility means that it can be used for various applications – especially when a highly-trained cutting specialist is on the job. For example, concrete coring can be used during demolition and renovation projects.

Core Drilling in Demolition and Renovation

Core drilling can be used for demolition (and controlled demolition) projects. In fact, some demolition experts say that demolition goes faster with core drilling than by using jackhammers.

First, removing the debris is easier with core drilling than jackhammering. Circular chunks are easier to manage than hundreds of smaller pieces.

Second, core drilling allows you to remove a specific area of concrete without damaging the surrounding area – instead of removing the entire section and then replacing it with a new surface.

A faster demolition job is a cheaper demolition job. If you want a quicker, less-expensive solution, consider hiring a core drilling operator for your demolition work.

Other Options for Demolition

Another popular demolition tool is Brokk – an electric-powered remote-controlled robot compact enough to fit into areas where a regular excavator cannot.

There are many benefits to using the Brokk machine:

• A Brokk machine can be used in areas where exhaust fumes cannot be present, such as hospitals and enclosed spaces.

• A Brokk machine can be used in areas that would be unsafe for a manned excavator.

• This demolition machine can fit into elevators but can still dig, break, crush, and remove large areas of concrete.

• The Brokk machine is highly maneuverable. It can rotate 360 degrees and has front and rear outriggers to make it stable on uneven surfaces.

A trained operator controls the Brokk with a remote control system. The operator can operate the machine in a safe area while still handling the robotic demolition equipment with extreme accuracy.
